Pop Culture State– The current sociopolitical state as a whole. This often system operates exactly as a standard political system, however under a flawed belief they remain unnoticed. This group is openly hostile to others who differ, believes thoughtcrime should be a punishable offense, attempts to censor the world, and pretends that evil is good, and war is peace.

CCDs– Climate Change Deniers

2 Minutes of Hate– a practice first mentioned in George Orwell’s 1984. It is a senseless, irrational, and violent practice where humans are effectively transformed into mindless “attack dogs,” who bark and bite as they’re told. They send hate mail, create cruel memes, publicly ridicule, and mock any figure who has offended someone’s delicate sensibilities, for no other reasons than hearsay and gossip. They are often racists, misogynists, and hatemongerers, but so long as they’re in the socially acceptable political party, never see backlash for their hate. These people are the modern equivalent of the ignorant mob carrying pitchforks and torches.

Orwell best summed the experience up:

“The horrible thing about the Two Minutes Hate was not that one was obliged to act a part, but that it was impossible to avoid joining in. Within thirty seconds any pretence was always unnecessary. A hideous ecstasy of fear and vindictiveness, a desire to kill, to torture, to smash faces in with a sledge hammer, seemed to flow through the whole group of people like an electric current, turning one even against one’s will into a grimacing, screaming lunatic. And yet the rage that one felt was an abstract, undirected emotion which could be switched from one object to another like the flame of a blowlamp.”
